Team Tawd meets every Friday and the first Saturday of each month  to help the regeneration of Tawd Valley Park, by carrying out a range of maintenance and conservation tasks .

The first Team Tawd day was back in October 2018 when 20 enthusiastic volunteers came forward to help with the preparation work on the new orchard.   Since then they’ve helped with woodland management, litter picked, planted trees and hedges, scattered wildflower seeds, created paths, built bridges and maintained access features.

The next task they will be tackling is another section of footpath and some bank revetment work in the river. They will be installing spiling to prevent erosion and scouring which is threatening to undermine a magnificent oak (which might be 200 yrs old or more). They will also soon be building a new set of steps at the fishing pond to allow access to one of the new fishing pegs.

If you would like to join Team Tawd, just turn up!  Everyone is welcome – we meet every Friday and the first Saturday of the month.

Meet at 10am at the turning circle at the end of Summer Street, Skelmersdale  WN8 6XJ.

(Please arrive promptly as task location will vary from meeting point.  Please wear suitably robust footwear and clothing.  No experience or existing skills required as full instruction and guidance will be provided.)
